In today’s busy world few people can find the time or the motivation to clean their own homes. Cleaning is thus a popular business and, as with any business, terms and conditions are essential.
This set of Cleaner Terms and Conditions is designed to apply to any cleaning business which provides cleaning services for private homes. Alternative terms of business have been designed for cleaning contracts which cover commercial properties such as individual offices or entire office buildings.
This template is compliant with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
A “contract schedule” is also included which enables the terms contained within this document to be easily converted into a legally binding agreement.
Customers entering into contracts “off the premises” of the trader are given a 14-calendar-day cooling-off period. This means they can change their mind for any reason after placing an order, subject to limited exceptions. Work can however commence within the cooling-off period so long as the customer expressly agrees to this.
The customer is also given a clear and concise summary of the pre-contract information they are entitled to receive.
It is important for all traders to be aware of their obligations and the rights of their customers under consumer protection laws. This document has been drafted with these laws in mind. Take care when amending the template to remain compliant with the legislation and, in particular, make sure you do not include any terms that be deemed “unfair”.
Optional phrases / clauses are enclosed in square brackets. These should be read carefully and selected so as to be compatible with one another. Unused options should be removed from the document.
